Career Options

Tutor

As an Ace Tutor, you will be working with students, individually and in small groups, to help them maintain and exceed their academic goals. You will consider the unique needs of each student, and work with their teachers to create plans and tasks optimized to maximize understanding and retention. Our students’ ultimate objectives range from basic enrichment to reaching NYS Common Core standards, to College Prep. Tutors are expected to have achieved an undergraduate degree and certification or to be currently working toward doing so. Applicants must have availability 2 to 3 days out of a Monday through Saturday week, with availability between the hours of 3 pm to 8 pm on weekdays, and 10 am to 3 pm on Saturdays.

 

Homework Assistant

As a Homework Assistant, you will be expected to help students complete and understand school assignments. This may span from simple daily assignments to an overview of the material covered in class, to assistance on projects. Ideally, our homework helpers are certified or working toward certification and an undergraduate degree. Homework Leaders (oversee helpers) must have an undergraduate degree, preferably in education. Leaders should be available Monday through Friday from 2 pm to 7:30 pm. Helpers should be available after school hours.

 

Teacher

A Teacher’s focus may range from conducting lessons in standard school subjects to leading the specialized classes we offer. As an Ace educator, you should be passionate about the success of our students, and motivated to provide strong guidance. Our Teachers are certified and currently employed by the NY State Department of education. In this role, you are expected to be knowledgeable on current NY State Learning Standards. Management

The success of the impact we at Ace have on our students relies heavily on our strong management team. Our administrators communicate closely with educators, parents, and students to create an environment we feel will nurture perpetual progress. This not only includes matching students with the best educator for their needs, but ensuring that everyone has access to sufficient resources, maintaining a suitable learning environment, and organizing activities and programs to enrich our students’ learning experiences. A role in management requires flexibility in multitasking and scheduling, strong attention to detail, personal determination and motivation, and the ability to contribute ideas and support to our centers.

 

Artist

We believe that when you're happy, learning is easier. So, we set out to unlock hidden talents, skills and abilities that make us happy. Our resident artist(s) gets to guide our seekers on that journey to self-discovery. Varying medium experience required.*

 

 

Work Study Applicants

This gives students an opportunity to not only enhance their but also to prepare them for college and other future paths. (Contact us for course offerings and pricing) During summer months, we accept high school level work study applicants to join our crew. Involvement consists of volunteering with our summer camp program, Project Crashbox, for the first part of the day, and participating in enrichment classes in the afternoons. English and Math classes are offered, as well as professional development seminars in resume writing, interviewing, and other professional skills.
